St. Mary's Parish Church, Wainfleet.

In 1979 this church was one of many throughout Lincolnshire visited during the 'Marfleet Ancestral Tour'. Still affixed to one of the pews was the MARFLEET name-plate indicating the pew where George and Mary Marfleet sat when attending church services before George's death in 1831. George and Mary lived in a house on the Friskney to Wainfleet Saint Mary road, by a bridge over the dyke. Ordnance Survey maps still show this bridge as 'Marfleet's Bridge' (O.S. TF468567).

Some Marfleet graves are to be found in the churchyard.
